Bioreactor ResearchLine™

A research bioreactor is a device used to prepare and incubate tissue and bionic organ models under in vitro conditions. This apparatus enables research assessing the functionality and viability of cells in created three-dimensional bionic models (constructs) with a vascular (flow) system. It allows for responses to both specified physicochemical parameters and biologically active substances added to the cell medium.

Through automation of measurements and their regulation, the bioreactor enables standardized and repeatable cultivation processes. The compact and user-friendly ResearchLine™ Bioreactor by Polbionica consists of two complementary parts:

  1. The main body, enabling the execution and control of set functions (supply of power, medium, gases, sensors; with a control unit with a touch screen).
  2. A single-use, sterile perfusion set (closed chamber, containers, drains, connectors) for preparation and conducting cultivation/incubation or tests.

The bioreactor is equipped with two types of chambers:

  1. For cultivation and incubation of bionic organs. Special pads inside the chamber ensure organ stability, enabling biological and strength tests.
  2. Chambers for testing cytotoxicity and activity of biologically active molecules, chemicals. The designed chamber allows for parallel testing of three tissue models.

Key features of the ResearchLine™ Bioreactor:

  • Control and adjustment of temperature conditions in the chamber (over a wide range from 8 to 40°C).
  • Control of gas concentration (CO2) – continuous access to results.
  • Controlled perfusion speed.
  • Automatic exchange system of cell medium.
  • Non-invasive (sterile) sampling capability for 3D models/constructs – adjusting medium supplementation according to obtained results.
  • Control of pressure in the perfusion system – preventing mechanical damage.

Note: There is the possibility of adjusting specific device parameters to research needs.
